St Andrew’s school moved several times, including to make way for the construction of the Croydon Flyover.


Becoming a High School

In September 1978 St Andrew’s re-opened as a High School for the first time.

A new school is mooted

In a speech in 1959, the headmaster at the time, Mr B. E. Knight, first revealed the plans by the diocese to build a new school.

Yvonne English

Yvonne English joined the school as an infants teacher in 1949 and remained there throughout a 39 year career, retiring as deputy head in 1988
